Terminology and basic steps are introduced and an appreciation of French as the language of dance is developed.
Classical Ballet
The curriculum for this program is divided into different levels and provides professional training in classical ballet. Advancement is determined by the student’s progress in developing technical skills and strength.
•Ballet 1-3
Establishes basic ballet vocabulary, barre and center work, spatial awareness, coordination of the arms and legs.
•Ballet 4
Continues training of ballet vocabulary by establishing more complex material such as pirouettes, more difficult jumps, port de bras and musicality. For girls, pre-pointe training (ankle strength, alignment, endurance) is added to their weekly class schedule, totaling two required classes.
•Ballet 5
Builds on Ballet 1-4 material by raising the level of difficulty of already established exercises and adds new vocabulary. Two weekly technique classes are required for this level. For girls, pointe training is added as a third class.
Beginner Pre-Teen Ballet
Establishes basic ballet vocabulary, barre and center work, spatial awareness, coordination of the arms and legs. This class is perfect for the older beginner who doesn’t want to be in class with young girls.
Teen/Adult Ballet
